Pancreatitis and energy

topic posted Sun, March 30, 2008 - 11:58 PM by  Inocentz
I have had 4 really bad pancreatitis attacks that have put me in a hospital bed for a week at a time. I am only 22. oddly enough I had an attack when i was 16, 18, 20, 22. hmmm... Doctors do not know the cause. There have been many tests done and still no answers. It was not caused by alcoholism, gall stones, getting hit in the abdomen, and everything else that seems to cause it. I have also had kidney stones. I am very concerned that I have had so many problems with my gastrointestinal tract and I'm so young. I have cut back on fat and really don't ever drink much alcohol which can upset the pancreas a lot but had not seemed to help. Doctors told me that I am also anemic and have me on iron supplements, I noticed a slight change in my energy levels but I'm still feeling very lethargic.

Does anyone have any advice to help me get my body back in balance? I don't like all these pharmaceutical drugs doctors are so quick to shove down my throat.

Thank you tons!
Peace and love

Pancreatitis is an inflammation of the pancreas which causes severe abdominal pain—may be either a brief or recurring problem.

What is your diet like? I would encourage you to take an inventory and then work to increase your digestive capacity. Bitter herbs and food could be really helpful in strengthening your overall digestive system ie dandelion, chicory, arugula etc. Also fermented foods. Drinking kefir (will increase beneficial gut bacteria) made from in my opinion raw dairy, but at least organic and and be sure it is made with whole milk. Low fat diets interfere with the bodies ability to uptake nutrients. Drink nettle as well as linden flower infusion: these will add nutrients as well as help to decrease inflamation.

        Hope that is helpful.
        Blessings
        Linda

I agree....diet and nutrition are of the UTMOST importance here!

Also, weird as it seems...massage may help. It should be healing massage....not the rough kind. Maybe Hawaiian type of massage (Lomi Lomi).

Also, sometimes Pancreatitis can be caused by abdominal parasites. You can get tested for these....

I think I may consider investing in a nutritionist. My eating habits aren't as good as they should be. That site was great by the way!! Helps a lot. I am also a massage therapist so I get many massages. I think the real problem lays in my diet. i may not be getting the nutrients that I really need. Maybe I'll start really keeping track of what my intake is because I'm so busy all the time it slips my mind a lot.

Thank you girls for your advice

i'm not a solicitor, just heard this person speaking on hayhouseradio.com. you can also look him up on youtube, google, etc, but this may help - www.pathtoconsciousness.com. i recommend researching/ listening to him [Steven Lewis] first or else this may appear 'out there.' you may also want to talk to Carol Ritberger, a medical intuitive on hayhouseradio.com. as for medicinal plants, they are wonderful to support your body - for you adaptogens will help you to support your immune system - but i suspect that will only be part of your healing process.
    all the best ~ k
