Tue, May 6, 2008 - 8:56 PMwell, the "stock" answer would be that roots are best collected in the fall, but Calamus root is always potent, so you can collect it mnore or less anytime, though it'd be harder to distinguish it from lookalikes in the spring, unless you know the smell, which is unmistakeable.
