Ditching Conventional Medication.

Today my Mother called me in tears.

Why?

She has made the conscious decision to stop relying on conventional medication for depression, insomnia, and chronic pain. During the conversation, she expressed to me that she is more than tired of depending on medications to help her feel emotionally and physically sound.

This is absolutely beautiful news!

However, while I do have a decent amount of information of what herbs she can supplement her medication with, I would love advice from others who I'm sure not only have more wisdom than I, but also possible experience with similar situations.

Many blessings,

Hmm... perhaps I should have stated this first and foremost in my posts, but she is tapering off her medications gradually and with patience.

I give my apologies for sounding off alarms I could have avoided.

    Many Blessings :)

I have been helped by St. John's Wort for depression, 5-htp (Grifonia Simplicafolia) for insomnia and anxiety, and Passionflower for insomnia.

I also like herbal supplements called Calm's Forte, which are a mix of mainly passionflower, avena sativa (oats), hops and chamomile, which help with insomnia.

Other times I have tried skullcap or valerian for insomnia, but I have experienced bad dreams while taking these.

For chronic pain, medical marijuana is good. Also, for muscle pain there is viburnum opulus or for womanly cramps, viburnum prunifolium. (I have tinctured prunifolium and it works like a charm!)

I would, however, definitely research the way these herbs interact with one another though, before trying any combinations of them. I don't have all that information yet.

Good health to your mother! :)
