picked in vancouver woods, mid oct. the mush is wet, so colors are not that intense when dries. it dries to a nice browh with a mat top.

Looks a bit like a butter bollett. Did it stain blue where you crushed the spore tubes?

You shouldn't pull out the mycellium with the stalk, the sustainable practice is to cut the stock at duff level. Peas, happy hunting.
